Over the past eighteen months, I have been working on large pieces which have involved traditional oil painting techiques using layers and glazes. Some of these pieces have been in my studio for over twelve months. "Beyond Sight" was a collection where I softly countered this approach, working on smaller pieces (excluding Beyond Sight itself) while still incorporating some of the more classic techniques. Beyond Sight is the largest in this collection and stands alone. I began this piece on intuition, layering colour, text and symbols, allowing the image to evolve.
